“In this lesson, I'm going to share some of the influences which have inspired me and shaped my own illustrations. To start with, I've got Joseph William Turner. I've always been fascinated by the way he plays with light and contrast, especially. I remember being captivated by his incredible landscape drawings, which had these mysterious, historic architectural features in them. I love the way he uses intense lighting to draw the viewer's eye to certain parts of a painting.
