About the final project for: Artistic Loop Tufting for Wall Hangings and Rugs

Loop tufting: illustration

“Thank you so much for trusting me to guide you through this adventure! I really hope you’ve enjoyed learning how to create bold and colourful tufting wall-hanging pieces. Let me show you an example of what I would like to see in your presentation: The Design Choose a reference photo and create a design that is simple in colour scheme and outline that will be appropriate for tufting.

The Materials Prepare your materials by tightly stretching your tufting cloth onto your frame and winding your yarn into cakes.
Transfering Transfer your design onto your backing fabric with a projector or freehanding. Remember to mirror your image as you will be tufting from the back.
Tufting Tuft your piece, starting with the smaller details and moving onto the larger areas.
Last Details Finally, apply latex to the back of your piece to secure your yarn. When the latex is dry, cut your piece from the backing material and use glue to attach felt as a backing for a nice finish.
Once your project is ready, share it on the forum by clicking the "Create your project" button. I will look at your publications as soon as possible and answer any doubts that need clarification. In the meantime, I encourage you to see what your fellow students have been up to and comment on their posts! See you!”

Remember to stretch your backing fabric as tightly as possible onto your tufting frame. It should offer resistance when...”
