About the final project for: Paper Sculpture Techniques: Create Stunning Paper Artworks

Paper Sculpture Techniques: Curved Paper Pieces

“It has been a lot of fun, but here we are at the end of the course. Thank you so much for being part of this journey and for your curiosity and passion for learning something different and new. I hope you learned a little bit about my process and how I work. I am primarily self-taught, so there isn't a formal way to create a paper sculpture, but I hope I have given you some valuable tools to get you started. I encourage you to experiment, discover new techniques, and find tools you can call your own. Remember to use your whole arm and follow your elbow when cutting with the X-Acto knife. This will allow you to make even more minor cuts. These are the steps I have performed on my project and would like to see reflected in yours: 1 - Choose an idea or concept and research images online, or, if possible, go out and photograph the subject yourself.

2—Create three rough idea sketches (small thumbnails), choose your favorite, and refine them into a cleaner drawing with more detail.
3 - Using a copy machine, enlarge your refined drawing to the final project size
4 - Tape a sheet of tracing vellum over your enlarged drawing and create a blueprint drawing using a 2H pencil.
5 - Transfer your blueprint drawing onto the backside of your art paper, leaving space for pieces that overlap with another piece. Cut the pieces from the paper, clean, score, and roll each piece before gluing together to complete the final project.
I want to encourage you to do a different project than mine. My project is meant to show you and hopefully inspire you to create something different and beautiful you can call your own. That is where the real beauty lies. Please post your paper sculptures on the Domestika forum so your peers and I can see and comment on them. It's always great to interact with the creative community. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you very much for being part of this course, and remember that there is no right or wrong when it comes to art;; there is only you,, which makes it unique and special.”

“So here we are at the end of this course. Thank you so much for being part of this journey. I hope it sparks your curiosity for learning something different and new. I'm self-taught, so there's no formal way of doing this. There's just you and the paper and whatever comes to mind. So I encourage you to experiment, find new tools and techniques that you can call your own. It's okay to go ahead and find photos, reference either online or go shoot your own photos with your own camera and work from there. It's more about the process of making a paper sculpture, not about the process of trying t...”
