About the final project for: Stamp Making for Textured Pottery

Stamp Making for Textured Pottery

“Thank you for taking this Domestika course with me. I hope you have learned some helpful slab-building and texturing techniques and that you want to continue creating your own unique pottery! Please remember that I have been making pots for a long time. Some of these techniques may look easy because I have done them a thousand times, but I have made a thousand mistakes too. We learn so much from our mistakes! Be willing to make mistakes and take risks! It's absolutely the path to creativity. The project that I have demonstrated took countless days of design work as well as trial and error, and it's a piece that represents me, my style and my background. You have a very different set of stories and experiences that have brought you to this moment. How can you put your story and inspirations into your mug? As a reminder, I've summarized the main steps you should follow to complete your project. • Choose the form you want to make. • Design the stamps and textures you want to use.

• Roll, texture, and cut the perfect slabs to your design's templates.
• Join the parts together. Add the bottom and the handle.
• Fire and glaze your ceramic piece.
I can't wait to see the project you come up with, so don't forget to share it in the forum. You can do so by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. The Domestika forum offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with others who are also learning new skills. Help and encourage each other as you work through the steps, and share your creativity and your project with fellow students. One of my favourite parts of ceramics is the community. And the only way to be a part of the community is to engage with it! I will be more than happy to answer any of the questions you might have along the way and try to get back to you as soon as possible. See you in the forum!”

“ Final Project Thank you for taking this course. I hope you have learned some helpful tips on how to do some slab-built forms and texturing techniques. Remember, I've been making pots for a long time, and some of these techniques might look easy in the video, but it took a lot of practice to get there. Practice is essential. In this video, I'll go over the course, give you a bit of a recap, and give you some tips for your final project. Remember, first, you want to start with a slab. The slab is very important. You want it to have that 0.5 cm thick base and it has to be compressed. This is...”
