“In this lesson, I'm going to talk about my influences, my key inspirations, and what they mean to me. So despite making ceramics, I do look around me for other influences, such as painters and sculptors. One of my favorite painters is Bridget Riley, who is an op art painter from the 60s and 70s, and she creates large optical illusion paintings, which, when you stand in front of them, they sort of suck you in. And I think it's really clever what she is doing with paint and the composition. I also like the slight trick of the eye and the perception of the mind, which I also bring into my scul...”
