“Hi, my name is David Plunkert. I'm a graphic designer from Baltimore, Maryland, where I co-founded a studio named Spur Design. I'm also an illustrator of editorial projects and posters. One of my earliest memories of making art was making a paper bag octopus in an art class as a little kid. I loved the fact that I changed a grocery bag into another thing. It blew my mind. All through grade school and high school, I wanted to be a cartoonist. And in 1983, I sent some of my self-published comics to Marvel Comics and got a very, very nice rejection letter.
