“ Varnishing Now that we've captured a photo of our painting, let's talk about how to varnish it. The purpose of varnish is to protect your painting. Most of them contain UV resistance so that your painting and your paint don't fade over time in the sun or with natural light. Also, a layer of varnish can protect your work from dust, scratches, and normal wear. I recommend waiting at least a few days before you try to apply varnish to your painting.
