“ Planning Out and Stencilling Now, I'll take you through planning out your design onto your garment. A really helpful tool that I use is stencilling. Stencilling can really help you scale up your design as well as give you confidence when you're tackling harder images. Here I have my sketch that I had from our previous lesson, and here is the jacket that I want to be painting. In my design, I've gone for a lot of natural forms, which can be really lovely to do freehand. But there are some shapes I think would be good to be stencilled.
