“ Assembling the Quilt Top I went ahead and pressed the seam between the sashing and the row. For a project like this, I like to press in the direction of the sashing. The reason I do that is because, if you're pressing against all the seams of the row, it's a bulky seam and adds a lot of seam bulk, and that will trip you up down the road when you're quilting, and it lays nice and flat for this project. Some folks will press all of their seams open. This is a personal preference about what makes you happy when you sew. I like to always press to the side, and in this case I'll press the side...”
