“ Painting the Background Colours In this lesson, let's get painting. We'll start with the background colours. The first colour I will start with is the lovely pale pink, which is the background colour for the building. I'll make sure I mix plenty of this colour. I don't want to run out halfway through and try to colour match something I already mixed. It's better to have slightly more paint rather than less. Gouache is water soluble, so if you some leftover paint dries on your palette, you can use it another day for another painting. I'm mixing a bit of spectrum red to create a lovely warm...”

She’s also written multiple books, The Joy of Watercolor, Getting Started with Gouache, Slow Travel Journal: The Small Delights of Going Away, and Watercolor Life. Emma has taught hundreds of people how to paint through her workshops and aims to bring joy to people’s lives through her illustrations that are filled with color and texture.
