She studied architecture at university, but gradually discovered her passion for handicrafts and began to explore the art of amigurumi. In 2010, she decided to share her passion by starting a blog about it, which grew into a full-blown website by 2016, named after her personal brand: Airali design.
Ilaria spent several years living in London where she had the opportunity to work with textile artists as well as in a yarn store. She has published several books and currently collaborates with business and publishers as a freelance designer. She also runs her own online store where she sells digital patterns for anyone who wants to crochet their own amigurumi.
