This is a fascinating class. Esra is an excellent instructor. She is very patient and also reminds students that it is fine to change and make your project truly your own. The additional reference materials will be very helpful. If you are not a detail person, this class may not be for you, but if you are this is the best! I plan to use some of these ideas on my ceramic pieces. I have not completed my final project but I am looking forward to working on it. Highly recommend this class.

PlusYa conocía a la profesora porque es una verdadera artista. El curso ha sido sencillo, completo y fácil de seguir. Hay que practicar para que salga cada vez mejor, pero la técnica la aprendes en este curso.

I love Islamic Architecture and geometric patterns but also love nature so it is such a pleasure to find this course. The teaching is clear and concise and gives a good background into the history. She offers all sorts of reference material if I want to delve deeper and the teaching of the quite complicated method is shown in a very understandable way. Thank you.

This Course is a parade example of quality over quantity. 3 hours dont seem a lot but the things you learn are extraordinary. I highly recommend it. I hope Esra continues to put courses up as she is highly educated on this topic and i am sure we can learn a lot more from her. It was a perfect beginners course.

I was a bit unsure to buy this course at first, but I am SO glad I did! Although I would prefer the course went a bit deeper into basics of tezhip, the overall content is so amazing that even though I haven't been able to complete the course yet due to some reasons, I am already able to make designs on my own. And that coming from me is huge, because I got introduced to proper Islamic art only a year back, and I discovered and fell in love with Islamic Illumination much later. Thank You Dr Esra!

Let's say it is an ok place to get acquainted with Islamic biomorphic patterns.
But to really understand the composition of the various elements that make up these patterns and learn the nuances of how to draw them "correctly" loyal to its tradition, we need to seek elsewhere. Also the teacher hasn't taken measures to makes the lines she draws really visible. I was gong to follow along just for the fun of it but gave up not being able to see what she is doing.

PlusThis course was challenging and engaging. Esra is a great teacher - super knowledgeable and quite funny! I enjoyed learning about the history of this art. Unexpectedly, I learned a few important techniques with using watercolors I hadn't learned from tutorials dedicated to watercolors, so that was a great bonus!
