Introduction to Islamic Art: Create Biomorphic Patterns

I've been looking everywhere for an economical start to learning islamic art, and I am so thankful to Domestika to providing that. I thoroughly enjoyed this course! Esra was such a delightfully kind teacher who made it a point to make the art seem approachable and I'm so excited to take what she taught and try more with Islamic Illumintion art!

The incredible and intricate details of Islamic patterns seemed to difficult to achieve. But being able to follow along Esra made the process much easier without feeling overwhelmed. Definitely recommend this class.

I really enjoyed this was. What a beautiful, considered and well thought out introduction to Islamic Illumination!

I loved this course! Not only was each step clearly walked through for us, but we learned a little about the cultural importance of islamic designs. I am down the rabbit-hole now, having bought a couple of the suggested books in the reading list. Am not quite finished the course, but I cannot WAIT to get started on my final project. Dr Esra is a great teacher and I love her methodical, meditative approach.

I loved this course and keep coming back to it. The art is just beautiful. I appreciated learning about its cultural context. Dr. Esra Alhamal is very clear, well organized and personable.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course, it is very interesting and lead me down a pathway of discovering more and more Islamic art. The teacher is lovely and explains things very clearly. And now I can't wait to do more Islamic art.
