Materials Let's start with the acrylics. Acrylics are water-based pigments. In other words, to mix them, we only need water as a medium. In the case of oils, they need a specific medium, which is oil, which is one of the things we have here. Turpentine is the essential, basic, lean element that we use to start mixing oil.
