“Padding and French Wire Embroidery In this lesson, I will explain how to pad and embroider the smaller surfaces of our patch. These will be lightly padded and embroidered with gold French wire. I start by padding the flames. I grab the heart design, the tracing paper, and I go and create the outline of the padding. In this case, I choose to pad the side flames with only one layer of felt because they are really tiny, while I use two layers of felt to pad the central flame.
