About the final project for: Introduction to Moulage for Fashion Design

Introduction to moulage: modeling on a mannequin

“So far my course on moulage, I hope you have enjoyed learning, for me it has been a real pleasure to accompany you. Remember that it is essential that you find your own reference and inspiration by watching a lot of fashion, that it is very important that you develop your aesthetic taste and that you look at the great references. Working based on trial and error is very important, do not be afraid of making a mistake, experiment. If you have never worked on the moulage technique, I recommend that you follow the final project that we have carried out step by step, but if you already have experience working in this way, I encourage you to make a different garment, play with volumes and lengths. , create a dress, a top ... imagination to power! Next, we are going to review the key phases of the project. It would be great if you showed me a picture of each phase and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. Work in moulage Select the fabric and mark your mannequin to approximate it with the fabric rectangles you are going to work with. Work on your mannequin looking for the volumes and shapes that interest you, remember to paint on the sample fabric you are working on. Go taking the references and marks of poise.

From tissue to paper Disassemble the toile with great care, the time has come to go from fabric to paper. In this way we will have our pattern ready to reproduce.
From paper to fabric Next, we go on to work on the final fabric and transfer the pattern information to our fabric. We will cut the fabric and we will be ready to sew. In this part be very careful not to lose information.
Mounting Finally, we have to assemble our garment on the machine by making the seams and drawstrings. In Unit 4 I taught you a very easy technique to make puckers and finish off bottoms and putting the finishing touches. Take the opportunity to put it into practice, you already have it!
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your garment and the steps that have led you to it. I am looking forward to seeing how it turned out. I also want to invite you to actively participate in the forum by sharing your progress, giving advice and trying to help the rest of the community. It is sure to be very enriching for everyone! I will be waiting for you in the forum to see your creations and to give you feedback. Thank you! ”
