“Using Illustrator and a Plotter Now that you know how to draw flat shapes, let's learn how to draw the templates for 3D shapes, starting with a cube. To draw the cube, first decide the size you want it to be and then, select the Rectangle tool. I'll make mine of 6 cm by 6 cm on every face, so I'll double-click 60 mm by 60 mm. It gives me one face. Here, make sure you're working on the Cut layer. I’ll copy this and drag it downwards until it meets the first one. Then, I'll do both of those again, so I have all going down in a line, in a column.
