I chose cross-stitch as it's an art form that's considered women's work. I felt that I strongly connected to the type of data I was presenting, which is primarily around gender equality. For you, a different medium might be better to showcase your data. Feel free to use a medium you see fit, whether that's ceramics, paint, or it could be a different form of textile design as well.
