A course by Fran Mateos , Architect
About the video: Concept art
Overview
“In this lesson I will draw a sketch in Photoshop directly on a basic render and I will try to assess what concepts I want to work with to make the image. Although it seems like a less important part, you will see how stopping for a while to reflect on the scene and studying the image from another angle makes us enrich our ideas before approaching post-production. ”
In this video lesson Fran Mateos addresses the topic: Concept art, which is part of the Domestika online course: Matte Painting Techniques for ArchViz. Optimize your architectural models in an efficient way and enhance the final image through matte painting.

“Concept Art It’s time to enjoy ourselves and start drawing. We’ll get to work and draw directly on top of our image with paintbrushes I’ll teach you to create. This is key because clients often doubt that we have a clear direction to work with, so by drawing it we establish a direction, specifically an artistic direction for the image. Join me, because we're about to get to work. I want you to enjoy, to relax, to put on some musi...”

A course by Fran Mateos
Despite specializing in landscapes, as soon as he finished his degree Fran Mateos set his sights on architectural graphic illustration driven by the idea of learning from the projects around him that were underway at the time. He started by collaborating with studios like Poliedro, Idearch, Manu-facturas, and Foster and Partners until he decided to take a break and open his own academy: La Leonera.
After a year of teaching classes, Fran was given the opportunity to work with the studio Nieto Sobejano and he quickly found himself drawn back into the world of architectural visualization. With the knowledge and experience he gained while there, he formed a team and founded Drama, his own architectural communication agency which has collaborated with larger studios in Spain and Europe including Arquitectos Ayala, Vázquez Consuegra, and Unstudio.
