Importantly, I would urge you to consider the hierarchy of information whenever you are organizing text. An interesting job that illustrators and designers can do is we convey to the viewer what's important, what they should look at first, second, and so on, so they know how to read the image. Lisa Perrin is an illustrator, hand-lettering artist, and professor based in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born in New York and went to college there, achieving a BFA in Drawing and Painting. She later went on to study a Master’s in illustration at MICA where she now works full-time as a professor.
Lisa has worked on over thirty book covers as well as for clients including Macy’s, Anthropologie, Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, Macmillan, The Saturday Evening Post, and Krispy Kreme. Her work has also been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, 3X3 Magazine, and Print Magazine.
