Introduction to Arabic Calligraphy: Maghrebi Script
“We have reached the end of our journey! Thank you for joining me in this magical space filled with love and light. Now it's time for you to take your own journey in Arabic calligraphy and inward. Before the final project, it’s important to understand the proportions of each letter, and for this, you’ll need to practice all the letters. After practicing the letters you will be joining them to form words. I would highly recommend practicing the words from the final project individually. For example, practice writing at least one page of each word, Sabr, Shukr, and Azeemah, using the calligraphy gloss paper. This way you’ll have good practice at understanding the structure of all three words with the correct proportions. Also before the final project, replenish your ink adding a few drops of distilled water in the inkwell, and mix thoroughly, to avoid any issues whilst you’re writing. In addition, layout the paper for the final project and draw a baseline in the middle of the paper horizontally. Faintly mark the spaces for each word with a pencil. This will help you achieve a balanced distance between each word. Write all three words Sabr, Shukr, and Azeemah in one line.
