About the final project for: Cinema Lettering
Cinema lettering
“Well friends, the credits come out, the lights in the room are turned on and the movie is over. I hope you have enjoyed this course a lot, for me at least it has been a joy. We are going to give a general review of the topics we have seen: • We have met, I have explained where I come from and why I draw letters. I have also shown you some books on calligraphy, lettering and film that you may find interesting for the course, and we have seen what materials we will use. • We talked about the fundamental principles of lettering: how to draw and build letters, how to get a good rhythm and a good spacing and some processes to start a project. We have also seen how the letter can communicate ideas and put us in environments and atmospheres, properties that we can emphasize through different finishes. And we have also studied how to work with the composition in order to propose a work of lettering within a specific format. • To make a poster, it is vital to ask ourselves what a poster is and what it is for. Keep in mind that the function of the poster may vary and therefore how we show the information as well. We have analyzed some movie posters and we have spoken with professionals who have given us their vision on the subject. • Finally, we have put ourselves to work and we have designed our poster, putting into practice everything we have learned before and taking it to a field as real as possible but also looking for the maximum expression through the shape of the letter. I hope that as a result of this course, not only have you learned a lot about letters, but that you have served to reflect on what is a poster and how we should show the information, as well as see the relationship between telling a story and a film and summarize it in the poster of it. I'm sorry to tell you that this crash is coming to an end. But before saying goodbye, show us the piece of poster that you have marked! And ceremonially, publish your project in your portfolio so that the world sees the wonders of which you are capable. Put some sketches and tell a little about the process so that you understand where the final result comes from and what was your intention. A hug, see you in the tail of the cinema! i. ”

We started by explaining, well, with a short presentation, explaining who I am and what I do. I have taught you a series of books and references about cinema, about "lettering" and about posters. I have shown you the materials that we used during the course, the most basic materials, because we have seen that then broad is Castilla and everyone can use whatever you want.
