I will start by talking a bit about the choices I make before I start carving. It has to do with how I want the final print to look like in the end. In this instance, I've decided to carve a continuous line around all of the three swans' shapes, and have a line in between the reflection in the lake to separate them visually. Viktoria Åström is a freelance artist, illustrator, and animator based just outside of Gothenburg, Sweden. She studied computer science at Lund University, and later went on to study design for interactive media at Middlesex University.
As an artist, she does a lot of her work by hand with everything from watercolors, ink illustrations, and prints with carving rubber. She runs her own web shop on Etsy where she sells her work, and does illustrative and 2D animation work for clients. She has also worked as an art director for clients like Volvo, SCA, Wellspect, and Trelleborg AB.
