“Creating the Body and Posing In the previous lesson we explored the face of our character and added personality to it. Before I start drawing the body of my character, I always go on a little search to find more references for the costume and colors of the character and I do this by looking on Pinterest and googling images. I go down the rabbit hole and follow where it leads me, but I try to keep this under one hour max. What I like to do is try to incorporate the references that I've picked for costume into silhouettes that I like. And you may have noticed that I always like to have three ...”

NYC-based Swiss character designer Félicie Haymoz has a range of experience in creating unique characters for animated films, TV, and advertisements.
She has worked with director Wes Anderon as lead character designer for his animated films Fantastic Mr. Fox (2007) and Isle of Dogs (2015). Her long list of clients includes Netflix, Warner Bros, Nexus Films, Agile Films, and Aardman animation. Félicie also gives talks and lectures on animation, and has been a guest speaker at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, Parsons School for Design, Paris, and Pictoplasma Festival in Berlin. In 2010, she wrote, produced, and directed her first short film Je Maudis Ma Nuit, which was selected for festivals across Europe and was screened in France and Switzerland.
