Gustavo Minas was born in Cássia, a small town in the interior of Minas Gerais in 1981. He graduated in Journalism at the State University of Londrina, studied language and history of photography with Carlos Moreira in São Paulo and, since 2009, has been photographing the daily life of the cities he visits.
He currently works as a freelance journalist and photographer in Brasilia and teaches workshops in Brazil and abroad. In 2017, his series 'Rodoviária' won the Picture of the Year LATAM award in the category "The Future of Cities" and in 2019 he launched his first book "Maximum Shadow Minimal Light" in Hamburg.
