“In this lesson I'm going to help you understand how light falls on the surface of objects so you can see how we can easily add volume to our illustration. Once we know where the main light source is, I will teach how to apply lights and shadows through color to give volume to the different objects that make up our illustration. Since our end result relies heavily on creating compelling volume, I would first like to briefly explain how light falls on objects to create that sense of volume. I'll give a very basic and standard example of a sphere and how it casts a shadow on a plane. ”
