About the final project for: Doodle-Style Vector Illustration

Doodle-Style Vector Illustration

“Dear students, We have reached the end of the course. I hope that I have managed to pass on my knowledge in an easy way and that you will be able to incorporate new techniques into your work. Shall we recap quickly? First, I introduced myself and told a little about my trajectory and my references. Then, we saw some research and brainstorming techniques. The goal was to arrive at an interesting list of elements and icons to use in our final composition. I showed how a set of features used regularly in my drawings guarantee my own visual identity. Before we started our final drawings, I suggested taking language tests. With these tests you experimented with different techniques to find a pattern that looked just like you. From there, we started sketching item by item from our list. Then, we migrated to the final vector drawings in Adobe Illustrator. Remember that there is no problem looking at some images and photos on the internet of the object that we are going to draw, but that they are only for reference. With our list all already drawn separately, we bring together all the elements in our work area and distribute them in a balanced way. After that, we started to integrate them and include graphics and elements to fill the spaces. With the composition ready, we add colors. It is important to note that the idea is not that you can draw like me. But that you can see in my process some tools that help you reach your own result, with your face. In the last unit, we saw some technical tips on how to get the file ready for other uses and, finally, some market tips to establish ourselves as independent illustrators. I hope that the course has generated good insights and that it will also serve as a stimulus for you to study other ways of reaching interesting results. It is! I will say goodbye here and make myself available to answer any questions that arise. I only ask for patience in response time, as I always have a busy schedule for my clients. And don't forget to show your final project to other colleagues. Share on the forum. It is always good to hear different opinions and be open to criticism. A big hug!”
