Free Examples for the Different Types of Perspective Drawing

From one-point to isometric, get to the grips with the different perspectives in architectural sketches with clear examples

Sketching is essential for architects as a way in which to outline, clarify, and share ideas. But, in order to accurately represent those ideas, understanding perspective is essential.

One of the most important concepts in architectural drawing, perspective enables us to accurately represent three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface, giving a realistic appearance in terms of width, height, and depth. When drawing in perspective, we create a scene where all objects are accurately placed in relation to each other, faithfully respecting their distance from the viewer.

Here, architect, designer, and digital artist Ehab Alhariri shares his guide explaining and featuring examples of different types of perspectives for digital architectural sketching.

In his Domestika course, Ehab (@archihab) teaches his process for creating seamless digital architectural illustrations.

Covering the different types of perspectives in architectural drawing—from one-point to isometric—Ehab looks at different examples and explains how to use Procreate to more easily create the different types. He also illustrates the various steps of the digital sketching process: fast rough sketches and clear line sketches; diagrams, sections, plans, and elevations.
