5 Vintage Furniture Interior Design Tips
1. Paint unlovely furniture the same color as the wall
Your grandmother’s old chair or that chest of drawers you inherited may not be the most beautiful piece of furniture in the world. But you can give them a unique touch and achieve wonderful effect simply by painting them to match the wall. This will make your furniture blend in, and give it a fresher style.

2. Combine styles
Antic&Chic also recommend mixing different furniture styles. At times when you want to achieve a harmonious space, it is best to use a single style. But mixing and matching different kinds of furniture creates a much more personal feel.

3. Use an old object in a surprising way
Step out of your comfort zone and invent new and surprising uses for everyday objects. A vintage chair can be a bedside table and an old mirror the perfect bedhead that adds light and depth to your room.

4. Play with colors
You can paint your furniture in different colors to create a variety of visual effects. Marc and Cèlia recommend using soft, light colors like mint, white and yellow for small, dark spaces. Using dark colors will create the opposite effect and make your room look smaller.

5. Use rustic furniture to provide warmth
Use rustic furniture to create a cozy space. This style automatically fills the room you’re designing with warmth. Use it sparingly and combine rustic items with other styles to avoid overload.
