Feng Shui for Your Workspace

Find out how to organize your workspace according to feng shui principles with Gema Casado Olea

Having an area where we can feel calm and at ease, away from stress, is something that helps many creative people when it comes to working. The problem is that we aren’t always sure what to do to improve our workspace, although in most cases the solution is easier than we think.

To help achieve a more balanced environment, Gema Casado Olea, founder, and director of El Tarro de Ideas reveals how to organize our workspace according to feng shui principles, through 5 essential points:

According to feng shui, our workspace must include 5 essential elements detailed as follows:

1. Fire

The fire element can be associated with a flame, such as a candle or a lamp. It is also present in materials such as leather or wool.

2. Wood

The wood element is related to this material. So, if our desk is made of wood, we will be sorted. We can also incorporate plants, which are connected to both earth and wood elements.

3. Earth

As mentioned, plants are connected to the earth element but we Also need to consider their health benefits, for example, their ability to humidify the air. The earth element is also usually associated with earthenware or similar objects. It is also related to rectangular objects: if your desk is this shape, all the better.

4. Metal

The metal element is symbolized by the color white of the walls. If our walls are not white, we can include other white or metallic elements, minerals, stones or decorative objects in a round or oval shape.
