How to Draw Plants Better (+Free Download)

You are old enough, now! You should be able to draw plants a bit better than your preschool self.

And I don't care if you are a licensed physician or an unemployed historian or a AI reliant "graphic designer". Wouldn't it be worrying if you found out your psychotherapist draws like an infant...?

A Basic Doodle

Do you know of any plant that has the same width from top to bottom? Other than the neglected dying flora ready to jump out of your balcony, plants tend to have a broader base and narrower stems near the leafs...

Oh wait, you don't even doodle plants! I understand, some people might think you are a flower child but as long as you are not my surgeon that is fine with me...

Irregularities

Bend your stems and leafs different directions one stroke at a time to achieve an organic feel... Sure you could also be doodling a fake plastic plant... But nowadays they are so realistic that it shouldn't make a difference in your drawing, really...

And what about a plant that is still growing beneath the soil...? I don't know, I think you are just grasping at straws, here...!
