Once you dive into the world of typography you find endless possibilities to experiment with your creativity. Lettering, 3D lettering, calligraphy, calligrams, experimental typography and kinetic typography. In this post it is the turn of the latter: typography in motion.

Movement is dynamism. Thanks to motion effects, texts come to life to make typographic texts more attractive. But, let's be honest, it is also a lot of fun. Mat Voyce (@matvoyce) is a graphic designer and motion graphics designer, who really enjoys exploring illustrated kinetic typography. In his Domestika course Expressive Motion Typography with After Effects he tells us about the programs he likes to use to create his magic. Adobe After Effects.
After you know how you want your typography to look, having worked out the styles, layers, font and strokes it's time to bring the letters to life. With After Effects you have a great tool to know how you want your letters to move and how they will react to movement. It's great for combining effects and timing them. Also for playing with the timeline, timing and keyframes.

Cinema 4D
Cinema 4D offers tools for creating animation, modeling, simulation and 3D rendering. Among its main strengths is a very fast, flexible and stable rendering speed, allowing workflows to be more accessible and efficient for design, motion graphics, VFX, AR/MR/VR, game development and all types of visualization professionals.

Blender
The first thing to note about this software is that it is free. Blender has a wide range of tools: modeling, rendering, animation & rigging, video editing, VFX, compositing, texturing and simulators. The workflow is fast and efficient obtaining high quality results.

Cavalry
Cavalry is also a free program, although with limitations for personal use. It is a tool for making animations that would be much more laborious or difficult with other programs. Calvary is able to work with a large number of objects, simplify the construction of data graphics or deform texts in a creative way focused 100% on motion graphics.

Other programs that, although they have not been specifically created to create professional animations, you will also be able to create moving typographies:

Photoshop.
In Photoshop the animation is done frame by frame. The fact that you are already familiar with the program is already an advantage, since you will use its tools to create animations. Another advantage is its simplicity to create layered animations. And another interesting fact is that Photoshop also offers multiple export formats.

Procreate.
As with Photoshop, Procreate allows you to create frame-by-frame animations. Procreate is already a great drawing and design software. The animation features of this tool are very intuitive and easy to use to bring your designs to life.

Alight Motion
Alight Motion is the first professional motion graphics app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. This app offers professional-quality animation, motion graphics, visual effects, video editing, video compositing and many more basic features with high-quality results.

Adobe Express
Abode Express is an online design application that also has a mobile version. It is a tool to use for both professionals and those who want to create graphics for social networks, brochures, logos and everything you need. This tool allows you to resize your content and add Photoshop effects.
