Throughout the online course Introduction to Digital Photography in Manual Mode, Debbie Castro, a UK-based artist, educator, and photographer teaches her tricks for taking incredible images that tell original stories.

Elephant.art

Established in 2010, Elephant celebrates creativity and contemporary culture in the visual arts. Covering the international art world, with a focus on emerging artists, designers and photographers.
Elephant takes a non-hierarchical approach to contemporary art, bringing together pop culture, music, graphic design, illustration and memes in their coverage.

Burn.

burn is an evolving journal for emerging photographers. Launched as an online magazine/journal on December 21, 2008, it was a platform created to support emerging photographers. Born from an educational imperative and to bring strong photographic essays and powerful text to not only photographers, but to anyone fascinated by a visual and literary interpretation of our complex planet. Your interpretations may be either journalistic in nature or esoteric subjective pieces. They hold all artists in high regard.

BOOOOOOOM

Booooooom was launched in 2008 by Vancouver-based artist Jeff Hamada. It is Canada’s highest traffic art platform, and one of the largest on the Internet. Over the last decade Booooooom has established itself as an authoritative voice in the new contemporary arts scene, highlighting emerging talents, and launching the careers of many young artists internationally.

PALM*

Palm* showcases photographers and artists through creative projects, online features, exhibitions, events and book launches. It was founded in 2015. Palm Studios is a London-based publisher focusing on photography. It’s outputs are curated and edited by Lola Paprocka - a photographer, curator and publisher. Her inspirations come primarily from Brutalist architecture, nature and portraiture. These themes frequently present themselves throughout her body of work. Lola has exhibited globally in various group shows and photography festivals. She has curated the Independent Photography Festival in London, in addition to a number of book launches and solo exhibitions.

ASX

Started in 2008, AMERICAN SUBURB X / ASX is an ever-growing archive and fiercely edited look at photography’s always relevant past, rapidly shifting present and dramatically unfolding future. The mission is to provide and provoke, to educate and titillate those who are obsessed with art, photography, visual culture and all of their beautiful moving parts. ASX believe that by bringing together the intellectual and the visual in a powerful dance, ASX will foster new generations of artists, scholars, collectors, and patrons.

Fotoroom

FotoRoom is an online space showcasing works of contemporary photography ranging in genre, theme and style, and made by artists from all over the globe. We also share helpful resources for photographers.

Phases Magazine

Phases Magazine was started on December 2012 as an online magazine that focuses on international contemporary photography. They are publishing periodically a selection of 3 portfolios on an irregular basis.

VII

Through a series of unforeseen events and a missed flight, VII Photo Agency co-founder James Nachtwey found himself situated in New York on September 11. Nachtwey photographed as the towers crashed down around him, initiating VII Photo Agency’s legacy of unflinching first-person and high-risk photojournalism just three days after its launch. In the ensuing years, the photographers of VII focused on documenting war and violence, climate change, human rights, mass migration, political life, inequality, and civil rights, transforming VII into a multi-faceted journalism organization.

Photoworks

Photoworks champions photography for everyone. They are an international platform, global in reach, and have provided opportunities for artists and audiences since 1995. Their programme brings new experiences to audiences and opens up new ways to encounter photography. Photoworks is a registered charity and the only organisation with a national remit for photography in England. Their work is supported by public funding through Arts Council England’s National Portfolio.

The Heavy Collective

The Heavy Collective is an online/offline platform dedicated to the dissemination of contemporary photography. It strives to showcase photographers through creative projects, exhibitions and online media. Sydney photographer Jack Harries is one half of The Heavy Collective, a blog and community leading the curation of antipodean photography. Over the past few years he and his partner Geordie Cargill have created one of Australia's most interesting image archives by working with both big and small names through their exhibitions, book fairs, and publications.

Photoeye

Founded in 1979 as a mail-order photography book source by director and owner Rixon Reed, photo-eye has grown to become one of the world's foremost galleries and websites devoted to contemporary photography

Ph Museum

PhMuseum is a curated platform dedicated to the visual language and its culture. The project was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is currently based in Bologna, Italy. Their home is a multifunctional space called PhMuseum Lab. Our community annual gathering is the PhMuseum Days International Photography Festival. Since 2012 they have been focused to find innovative ways to display photography, engage, educate, and connect, with a mission to discover, support and promote photographers, working as an innovative talent incubator.
