I am a professional artist constantly evolving and learning. I always have several projects going at once, as I feel this is the best medicine to keep the blues away. I have tried without and trust me, working is a relief. I started as a writer early on, but my mom nipped that idea right out of my 8 year old self. As I grew, I knew I was an artist and this time, she was not allowed to take that from me. I began my career in painting in my 20’s as a sign painting with aspirations of becoming a muralist. Soon, with hard work and determination, my dreams came true and I was a force in a market ripe with new homes. In 2008 the housing market took a dip and I shifted my sights on gallery representation. This turned into many experimental trails and becoming free to create intuitive painting, which shifted right back to my early love, writing. In the middle of a body of work, using acrylic and large canvases, I was open to a wonderful story and ran with it. Three years ago, I started to put that story into a young adult chapter form...my writing was on it’s way to making a splash. I got caught up in the world drama and put it down, however not forgetting. All of my work reflects that wonderful story of adventure, heartbreak and lessons learned, even though I have yet to complete it. As of today, I am diving back in as a commitment for my grandchildren. I always have had a personal tragic story to tell that involves family, food and the lack of both. I am excited to move forward and hope this journey will clear the way to finish what I have started.
