Angenise Rawls

I grew up in Ohio to parents who came from the Caribbean. I’ve always loved drawing and writing and my mom tells me I wrote on any and everything as a child. My sixth grade English teacher taught me Italic calligraphy and opened my mind to the world of art and letterforms.
I started my own calligraphy business in 2018 after a long hiatus from this art form after the prompting and inspiration of my pastor who found calligraphy pens inside of the historical church building we had just relocated to. I learned pointed pen calligraphy in 2020 and now provide calligraphy and floral illustrations for live events as well as studio commissions.
