How to Make Better Videos on Youtube
1. Create an eyecatching thumbnail
Stop viewers in their tracks - and from scrolling through Youtube - with a great thumbnail. The best thumbnails are usually 75% image and 25% text, which you should keep between 2 and 5 words. For the image, pictures of faces work particularly well. It’s also important to try and create consistency across your thumbnail, profile image, and channel banner. And don’t forget to check what your thumbnail looks like on mobile devices!

2. Optimize your video description
Make sure to include 15-30 keywords in your video description, with links to your other social media channels and the subscription button. Timestamps are also a useful way to let your viewers know what to expect during the video.

3. Optimize your end slide
Don’t forget to create an end slide by displaying an image at the end of your video for ten seconds. This is your opportunity to keep users on your channel and direct them to other content you have made.

4. Step up your tags
Using relevant tags will not only help your video to rank higher in search results, it will also enable users to find it more easily. A handy tool for finding well-performing tags is looking on Google Trends, but make sure to only use tags that are related to the content.

5. Longer videos work well on Youtube
Attention spans are longer on Youtube, therefore longer videos work well. However, Marija stresses the importance of not creating longer videos just for the sake of it: each second should offer value to your audience.
