My mother was a professional seamstress in the garment industry in Los Angeles. I have always been surrounded with color, texture and design. Initially I was drawn to 'letter forms' and pottery. I earned a graphic arts degree that I put on the shelf after graduation. I worked for an appliance manufacturing firm for 30 years from customer service to quality engineer. I'm retired and love creating things with my hands. . calligraphy to chain saw sculpture. I saw your fish pond image and decided to replicate it in my garden, which brought me to your class. Bricks, gravel, tiles and stones have always drawn my attention so I have incorporated them in my garden, specifically on patio surfaces and enclosures in the garden.
