I will be 92 years of age next month. Art has always been something that I love. In 1943 I was selected to attend "The High School of Music and Art" in New York City. It was a desirable place to study during the war years as they kept us interested and less worried about the war. We took our courses very seriously as all of us had gone thru strenuous testing in order to be a part of the Artistic World, officially. I married and while raising my family and living away from the New York scene, the only way that I felt alive was by volunteering in local Theatre where I painted backdrops, helped make Floats for Parades, I made posters for School productions and so forth and so on. My husband had served his country and had returned, so we felt he needed to study in the field that he had started, Engineering, which was afforded to Veterans under the Government and was paid for all Veterans. Somehow, I was able to get in some Financial training and I became an Accountant. Then, many years later, after I had retired and had my 80th. Birthday, our family had started working on a miniature City with tracks and Trains running thru it. My daughter asked me if I would paint the backdrop for the project . I was pleased to do it so I chose to use a new media for me, Acrylics. Since I had never used that Media before, It took me 5 weeks but it was a success. Since then, for the past 12 years my grandchildren and great-grandchildren have continued to request all kinds of paintings for me to make for them and it keeps me busy. When I discovered DOMESTIKA, I immediately wanted to learn more about the modern way of painting in Watercolor. Your Artists are very professional and the technique is so fresh. My current paintings look very clean and interesting.
