Miguel Pamplona

Born 1983 in Azores, Portugal.

I grew up surrounded by my mother's and my grandfather's work — she was an artist and he was a historian and antique dealer.

Mixing traditional craft with new technology, my practice explores the conceptual aesthetic of things through different material encounters, misplaced relationships, and spatial tensions.

I create conceptual situations resulting from a process of analysis, transformation, and displacement of things.

I take specific subjects and develop conflicts with precise minimalistic means, exploring the point where things become something else.

I live and work in Lisbon, Portugal.
