Marianne Van der Kaaij

Trained as a lawyer and art historian, but now trying to make a career in painting and illustration. I am a generalist who loves experimenting with different techniques and likes to try out all kinds of styles and subjects. As a mom, my two daughters also inspire me to try making children's book illustrations. I have taught art lessons in elementary school, which was awesome because children have such an amazing fantasy and are absolute sponges. I live in the Netherlands and find my inspiration in nature, everyday life, museums but also love to get lost in my own fantasy.
