Hi there, I'm a working street caricature artist, I've been doing this full time for about 3 years now.
I studied Animation at Newport University in Wales, where i specialised in 2d hand drawn animation which is where i started caricaturing people for free in pubs.
My favourite artist is with out a doubt Frank Frazetta! The level of detail in his work absolutely blows me away, coupled with the abillity to be able to capture a scene at the height of tension. The raw power of it, and his abillity to make the viewer imagine an entire story around a single image i find incredible. My other favourite artists include Norman Rockwell, Arthur Rackham, Andrew Wyeth, J.W Waterhouse, John Harris, and Tom Richmond.
I'm a massive lover of story telling through art, music and film.
But i'm also a great admirer of eyewatering talent, technique, composition and skill.
I am less interested in "high art" and feel strongly that any piece of art that's so abstract that only the artist knows what it's about is simply self indulgent, pompus, lazy and exclusive.
I'm also a fairly talented musician with a good ear, but lazy.
And previously a very good mountain bike trials rider.
