About the video: What will we do in the course?

Overview

“In this lesson I will tell you what we will do in this course. We will start by looking for references about the idea that we want to convey, we will choose a portrait photograph, some organic elements and a color reference from which we will extract our own palette. Then, we will create a library of resources (textures and stains) that we will keep on some storage platform (such as ICloud Drive, for example) to be able to import it into Procreate. I will also tell you about the tools I use and the most important gestures within the application and we will begin to fit and compose our portrait. We will give volume and life through patterns and graphics and, next, we will contribute color helped by our palette. We will add elements of nature and textures that will help us give it expressiveness and warmth. To finish I will show you how I adjust some shades of color and how to export the work for different supports according to their purpose, whether for printing or for social networks, websites, etc. ”

In this video lesson Elena Garnu addresses the topic: What will we do in the course?, which is part of the Domestika online course: Illustrated Portraits with Procreate. Learn how to create and compose a portrait adding elements, textures, and expressiveness starting from a photo.
