Partial transcription of the video

“Do you want to hang it or do you want to use it? In this lesson, I'm going to teach you how to convert your embroidery in a patch that you can apply to any garment. For that, the first thing I did was remove my embroidery from the hoop. If you look, it is marked the position it was in during the time I embroidered. Contemporary beaded embroidery artist

Camila Rubio is a contemporary beaded embroidery artist and more commonly known as Pasionaria Pedrería. She got herself into the world of embroidery through the exploration and application of materials that caught her attention—especially shiny ones— in a self-taught manner.

Camila focused on developing a beaded embroidery technique that was as complete and thorough as possible, not only in the study of different stitches but also in the use of various materials, which would allow her to turn her drawings into embroidered pieces full of nuances, shine, and texture.

She worked on the Gabriel Vielma summer collection in 2017 and from there, continued to be linked to the intervention and decoration of clothing and publishing houses. She has developed all kinds of projects: beaded embroidery kits to create patches or pins, large-scale embroidery for showcases, embroidered gardens, paper with rhinestones, among other projects.
