Mariela Sancari is an Argentine visual artist and photographer based in Mexico. She works mainly with photography but also other disciplines, such as performance and the creation of photobooks.
Her work has been shown in photography festivals around the world. She has taught classes and workshops on photobooks, among other topics, in Mexico, Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, the United States, Spain, India, Singapore, and Switzerland.
In 2017, she and the Centro de la Imagen team in Mexico City created FOLIO, the first public collection of photobooks in the city. It is part of the library and already has more than 500 copies in its collection, all obtained through generous donations from artists and publishers around the world.
