“As I said, let's see, the light is going to come from above hitting all the top surfaces. For example, the shoulders of the character, the head, maybe some of the stairs the character is walking on, maybe we have some more stairs here and then a flat surface. I'm painting way way way too much, but that's usually the technique I'm using. I add too much and then I subtract with a mask. And then I put a mask, switch to a softer brush and I start taking things away to achieve this very soft look.
