“It's important to remember that every time we make marks or make brush strokes, We are adding layers. that extend further out from our painting surface. Now, you might want to capitalize on these layers and create in some ways sculpture like paintings by using really thick paint. But for my work, I tend to start in very, very thin layers and then work my way up. When it comes to sheen, we're talking about the way that the light reflects off of the surface.
