About the final project for: Fantasy Acrylic Painting

Painting Fantasy with Acrylic

“Congratulations on making it this far! Every step you've taken, every exercise you've completed, and every reflective moment has contributed to your growth as an artist. It's an honor to have been a part of this journey with you. Before diving into that final project, I want to underscore the importance of each teaching we've shared together. It's not just about painting a picture; it's about conveying emotions, narratives, and purpose. As you approach your final piece, carry with you the principles we've discussed. Let each stage guide you, from initial thumbnails to final touches. But before we delve into the details, take a moment to recognize and celebrate your dedication and persistence. I'm genuinely grateful for your commitment and effort. Now, let's paint! Thumbnail Composition: - Once the composition is decided in the thumbnail stage, stick to it. - Working on a thumbnail allows you to identify the key elements of the composition, and to not get lost adding detail later that makes your image less readable. Leave it

Fine-tune Sketch: - Solve all of the drawing problems in the fine-tuned sketch before you take it anywhere near the color
Preparation and Inking: - The better you prepare the painting before you paint, the more freely you can paint later. So when you ink, think carefully about the values, black and whites so that you are happy with them.
Color Composition Experiments: - Photocopy your work and work on several colour compositions. Make sure you make all of the colour decisions before you actually work on color. It’s way easier to mess it up and make a mess here. Take all of the risks you want at this stage because it will strengthen your choices later. I often try out color combinations that I know might look horrible, just to get them out of my system. Masking and Background Work: - Once your figure is masked, you can work more freely in the background. You want to stay away from making it too detailed because you want to avoid distractions from your final figure. You can always return to it if you wish to make some changes.
Painting the Figure: - When you paint your figure, all you want to do is focus on the focal point. So carefully render the expression and strengthen the narrative. Anything else basically doesn’t matter. Review and Refinement: Now step back, look at what you did and see if there is any way that you can improve the storyline. Reflection and Forward Momentum: Remember, artists grow by doing and reflecting on what they have done. Every painting has something new and something that you’ve enjoyed. Focus on what you have achieved and how you may incorporate it into your next character. And enough chatting, time to start on the next character!
I really look forward to seeing the characters you come up with. I will be happy to know how you’ve managed to incorporate some of my tips and processes and to hear about what has worked for you, So please share your work with the forum and check out what other artists have produced. It’s been a pleasure painting for you; I hope you’ve enjoyed the course. Thank you! ”

“Here we are. It's been a pleasure and thank you for following the course. I hope you really enjoyed it. I know this technique might be different from what you're used to. Try it out a couple of times, see what the strengths are, and make yourself comfortable with it. What I really like about this technique is that if you follow the systems, you are able to push yourself and make yourself the best you absolutely can within each step, ignoring the rest, not filling the head with too much anticipation. I'm just going to share with you some final tips and make sure you take them with you into y...”
