About the final project for: Eco printing technique with flowers and plants

Natural Floral Tie Dye Pattern and Technique

“Thank you so much for trusting me to guide you through this journey! I hope you had fun and learned a lot. The techniques I showed you are things that I use all the time when making one-of-a-kind botanical prints on clothing and home textiles. Now it's your turn to start a new connection with plants and the world of color around you! Let me show you an example of what I would like to see in your presentation: The Item Choose the item you want to dye, and start with something small and inexpensive. Fabric Yardage is a good start! White Kona Cotton is a great option.

Plants and Flowers Plan your design and the plants and flowers you want to use.
The Design Lay your design out on the fabric; if you're using just flowers, you can move things around til you are happy with a balanced design. Always be aware of the edges. I often like to have some items half off the edge to give a balanced look. Flowers go face down and flat.
Dyeing Fold or roll - depending on your technique here, you will get different patterns. Steam and reveal! Lastly, rinse and launder.
Remember not to be perfect; let the plants do their thing, and with patience and practice, you will learn to have more control. Slow down, and be more observant of your natural environment! While doing your projects, I highly encourage you to let your creativity take the lead! That's the only way to create unique pieces that you fall in love with. Once your project it's ready, share your project on the forum by clicking the "Create your project" button. I will look at your publications as soon as possible and answer any doubts that need clarification. In the meantime, I encourage you to see what your fellow students have been up to and comment on their posts! See you soon!”
