“Retouching and Digital Editing Again, we've evened out and taken away some of the gray from the background and I'm bringing the left side up. The left side was feeling a bit extra dark and I wanted to bring a Curves layer in there. I'll turn this off so you can see. I'm not darkening the shadows, I'm lifting the darkest parts. Then I put a little gradient, I'll swap that in there, on that mask. Let me show you again. In this case, it would brighten the entire image and I don't want that. I want to bring up the left side, so I'll bring this one down. We've got the left side brightened. Again...”
