“In this lesson, we'll start to practice free motion embroidery. The first thing you're gonna wanna do is cut the top thread of your machine right here. Pull the thread down through the machine, making sure your presser foot is up. Pulling your thread through the machine this way helps to keep your sewing machine intact. And now it's time to remove the bobbin thread. When you're first starting out with free motion embroidery, it's helpful to use a piece of paper, take out all the threads on the machine, and use the paper to see where the needle pierces through the surface.
